17th September 2009, EQF Seminar
An EQF seminar, organised jointly with the European Commission, was held in Dublin on 17 September 2009. The seminar was opened by Mr Batt O’Keeffe, T.D., Minister for Education and Science, and Mrs Odile Quintin, Director General of Education and Culture with the European Commission. 8th September 2009, Framework Implementation and Impact Study
The report of the external study team of national and international experts was published today. The report and its recommendations will be considered by the Authority and it will work with stakeholders to identify appropriate follow-up action. Further details are available from this link.
18 June 2009, Completion of the referencing of the NFQ to the EQF
The referencing of the Irish NFQ to the EQF is now complete. The final referencing report was adopted by the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland on 28 May 2009. The Qualifications Authority is Ireland’s National Coordination Point for the EQF. Further details are available from this link.
18 May 2009 Major Diplomas and non-major awards included in the Framework
Listings of major Diplomas and non-major awards made by the NUI in its recognised colleges were submitted to the Authority in April 2009. These lists of awards, which include associated credit, are available from this link.
22 April 2009, Guide to Referencing the NFQ
Guide to reference the NFQ published. A guide to help higher education and training providers reference the NFQ in marketing and promotional materials has been produced. Further guides for other groups are planned.
26 March 2009, NFQ Levels of University Major Diplomas and Non-Major Awards
Listings of university major Diplomas and non-major awards were submitted to the Authority in September 2008. These lists of awards, which include associated credit, are available from this link.
03 February 2009, Referencing the NFQ to the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)
The process to reference the NFQ to the EQF has begun. The Qualifications Authority has convened a national Steering Committee to assist it in the referencing process.
